More than 90% of the
2.4 million displaced persons across northeast Nigeria are living with host communities. 40-year old Muhammed and his
family have taken in 30 displaced persons, including children who have
fled violence in Borno state.
"If I don’t stand up for them here in Maiduguri, they could be easily be victimized. So we take care of them, ensuring
them of their safety and security," says Muhammed.
