Kanye West reveals he thought Kim was leaving him after his slavery comment
Kanye West has revealed he thought his wife-of-four-years, Kim Kardashian, will leave him after he made a very controversial statement on TMZ that slavery was a choice for Black people.
The rapper said the biggest backlash he received because of his statement was at home. He got it so bad from Kim that he figured she was going to divorce him. But they managed to work things out.
He said: "There was a moment where I felt like after TMZ, maybe a week after that, I felt like the energy levels were low."
The father-of-three told The NY Times, he actually called several family members and asked, "Was Kim thinking about leaving me after TMZ?"
Meanwhile, the Times asked Kanye if he wanted to rephrase the statement about "slavery" but he refused, saying : "I never said slavery itself -- like being shackled in chains -- was a choice. That's why I went from slave to 400 years to mental prison to this and that. If you look at the clip you see the way my mind works."
