Mukhtar Dan’iyan (Mr Aye Dee) Says That He Is Samuel Ogundipe's Source

Mr Mukhtar Dan'Iyan, popularly known as Mr Aye Dee, has claimed he is detained Premium's Times' journalist, Samuel Ogundipe source.

The Public Policy and Security Analyst revealed via his Twitter page that he supplied detained Premium Times journalist, Samuel Ogundipe, with the Inspector General's letter to the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on SSS National Assembly siege.

You recall, Mr Ogundipe was arrested at about 3p.m. and driven from the SARS headquarters in Abuja to the IGP Monitoring Unit at Force Headquarters after he refused to disclose his source over a recent story he wrote.

The story was about the preliminary report on SSS National Assembly siege IGP Idris was to submit to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

In the report published on Premium Times by Samuel Ogundipe, Mr Idris was quoted as saying that Mr Daura was working for some politicians for selfish interest, but did not name the accomplices.

Mr Idris allegedly added that Mr Daura did not consult with other security agencies before ordering the siege, and questioned the validity of a security report that allegedly anticipated a violence at the parliament.

After Samuel Ogundipe was arrested and his Ecobank account reportedly frozen in an alleged attempt to frustrate him, officials at the police headquarters reportedly said the directive to detain the journalist came directly from the Inspector General of Police who is said to be angry at Premium Times' critical reporting of his activities.

Detained Samuel Ogundipe has declined giving his source as allowed by journalism ethics. And up until this minute this report was published, Samuel Ogundipe HAS NOT confirmed Mr Aye Dee's claim that he was his source..
