A Southern California man was arrested at Oakland
International Airport after security officers found him wearing an
unusual watch they said could be used to make a timing device for a
bomb, authorities said Friday.
Geoffrey McGann, 49, of
Rancho Palos Verdes was taken into custody Thursday night after he tried
to pass through airport security with an ornate watch that had
switches, wires and fuses, according to Sgt. J.D. Nelson, a spokesman
for the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.
A bomb squad arrived
within five minutes and determined there were no explosive materials in
the watch, Nelson said. The checkpoint was closed while officers
secured the area.

An employee of Access Bank, Femi Badejo, who was allegedly shot
alongside a security guard, Joshua Musa, by policemen on Saturday at
Ikota, Lagos, still has a bullet lodged in his wrist.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the bullet could not be removed at the moment.
“I’m
still in pain from the bullet wounds. I was shot five times. Four of

various criminal offences. While some of the deportees had contravened

The City of London, Ontario, Canada - A woman became a surrogate mother for her infertile daughter, and will
give birth to her own grandchild. Cathy Donnelly, 58, is six months
pregnant, and will welcome her seventh grandchild into the world. After
two years of trying, daughter Shannon Fischer and husband Jamie
discovered they couldn’t conceive due to scarring in Shannon's uterus.
So, Mrs Donnelly, mother of three and a grandmother of six, volunteered
to be a surrogate mother for her daughter.

Vice President Namadi Sambo yesterday hinted that most power
plants belonging to the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) were
completed and would be commissioned in 2013 to produce enough

A kidnap suspect has confessed to the
police that his first participation in kidnap operation fetched him N1
million which he used to buy two vehicles, a bus and a sport utility

Federal Government and Boko Haram has crumbled, even as the top command
of Nigeria’s security apparatus has launched a fresh offensive to
